Roadmap
Where it's going.
And what's already there.
What shipped, what is being built and what comes next, across the Mac launcher and its engine, AnyPS5 Desktop, the phone app and AnyTogether. Only things that are true.
Done22
Shipped and in your hands.
Controllers
DualSense, DualShock 4, Xbox, Switch Pro and more over USB or Bluetooth (the DualShock 3 over USB on the Mac), with a screen that tests them and a troubleshooter.
Add to Steam
AnyPS5 and each unlocked game in your Steam library with their own art, starting straight into the game; on the Steam Deck too.
New games ready by themselves
A game copied into the games folder shows up by itself and is prepared in the background, after a check that the drive has room.
Richer messages
Photos, clips and voice notes, replies, reactions, edits, unsend, read receipts and pinned chats.
Glass theme
A see-through launcher window: the wallpaper glows through frosted panes (Liquid Glass on macOS 26, Acrylic on Windows).
Finding players in the apps
The looking-for-group board, public parties and game hubs in the Mac launcher and on the phone, not only on the web.
Engine picker
Settings → Engine lists the engine builds from the releases, downloads and checks the one you pick, for every game or just one, or uses your own build.
Crash reports
When a game stops, the launcher says why. Export Report saves the log and macOS's crash report in one file; Open Issue fills in a GitHub issue, personal details taken out.
Fresh engine, upstream merged
Upstream AnyPS5's latest work merged in: 1,465 commits of fixes and game support, tested on Cat Quest III, Silksong, Dreaming Sarah, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted and DOOM.
The phone, online
Edit your profile and picture, the activity feed, leaderboards, 1:1 calls, notifications, and watching or joining a friend's share play.
Installers for Windows and Linux
A Windows setup that needs no admin, an AppImage and a .deb, with the AnyPS5 icon.
The engine downloads itself
One press fetches AnyPS5's engine for your system, checks it against GitHub's checksums, resumes broken downloads and keeps versions side by side.
Find players
A looking-for-group board, public parties and share plays to walk into, and a hub for every game with who plays it.
Notifications
The bell everywhere for requests, invites, missed calls and messages, browser push, and a mail digest of what you missed.
Theme Hub
Share a theme from the launcher's Theme Studio; anyone installs it with one press. Likes, versions and reports, on the web and in the launcher.
Compatibility list
One tap after a game says how it ran; every report, with the launcher, engine and Mac, makes the community list.
Profiles, trophies and leaderboards
Play time and trophies from every launcher, rarity among all players, an activity feed with reactions, and boards among friends or everyone.
Frame generation
A frame made between each two of the game's, so 60 fps shows 120 on a 120 Hz display. It turns itself off where it would cost frames.
Run your own server
The whole server on one machine with Docker Compose and a guide; every launcher and the phone can point at it.
The phone controller in Windows games
AnyPS5 Remote plays Windows games with AnyPS5 Desktop, through the engine's Winsock bridge (AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.22, Desktop 0.1.8).
In progress4
Being built right now.
Online play through the engine bridge
Each player runs their own copy and the games play together through AnyTogether, never through Sony. Experimental in the launchers since AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.19: Human Fall Flat lists and joins public lobbies, and no game plays a whole session yet.
Play Together
Start a game from the party and everyone in it joins its LAN mode over the internet, after a check that they have the same game and version. The server and the party pages are live; the launchers' side is coming.
Native arm64 engine
Games translated to arm64 once, when they are unlocked, so they run without Rosetta. DOOM plays E1M1 natively on the native-arm64 branch.
Opus game sound in share play
The game's sound as a stereo Opus track, about 128 kbit/s instead of 1.5 Mbit/s, for hosts on slow uploads. Watching in a browser plays it already; the Mac launcher sends it from its next release.
Next4
Up after that.
Signed and notarized Mac builds
Release builds signed with Developer ID and notarized, so the zip opens without the Privacy & Security step.
Push notifications on the phone
Messages, invites and calls on a locked phone, through APNs and FCM.
Share play and the feed in AnyPS5 Desktop
Hosting and watching share play, the activity feed and leaderboards on Windows and Linux, as on the Mac.
More languages
Everything is in English and Turkish today; more languages for the launchers, the phone and this website.
Later7
Planned, not started.
Party chat
A text chat beside a party's voice, in the launchers, on the phone and on the web.
Profile themes and showcase
Your profile wearing a theme you choose, and up to six games or trophies pinned to its top.
The phone as a headset
The party's voice through the phone while it is also the controller.
End-to-end encrypted messages
Direct messages and voice only the two of you can read and hear.
The phone app in the stores
AnyPS5 Remote on the App Store and Google Play, no sideloading.
Share play for many viewers
More than four viewers through a media server, and parties with more than eight talking.
Challenges and a public API
Tournaments and challenges on the leaderboards, and an API for community tools.
