AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.24 is the profiles release: everyone who plays on a computer gets their own profile, offline or online, with their own saves, trophies, settings and AnyTogether session, and Who's playing? at start. Friends can see a friends-only name and picture. Games read the DLC and updates you dumped yourself, the PS5's Game Presets come to every game, and on a MacBook Battery & Heat profiles stretch the battery and calm a hot Mac, live, mid-game. AnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.10 brings profiles, friends-only names, DLC, updates and Game Presets to Windows and Linux, with a new Windows and Linux engine built from ce334c86b. The phone app AnyPS5 Remote 1.19 comes along. Like every release, it is signed.
Profiles
- The first start asks how you want to play: Play Offline (no account needed; trophies and progress stay on this Mac, nothing is synced or shared) or Play Online (create an AnyTogether account or sign in with an email code, the website or your phone; friends, parties, Play Together, trophies and cloud saves that follow you). You can switch later.
- Several profiles. Add Profile adds someone else who plays on this Mac. With more than one, Who's playing? greets you at start, with each profile's picture or tile colour, Online or Offline, and Playing now on the one in a game. Settings → Profiles → Ask Who's Playing at Every Start makes it ask every time.
- Each profile keeps its own AnyTogether session (kept in the Keychain), settings, saves, trophies and Game Presets. A profile's saves are put in place when it plays, so nobody overwrites anyone else's game.
- Switch Profile from a long press of PS in the launcher, or from the Options menu: Options/Start on a pad or right-click on Home (△ stays the game's settings). The Options menu also lists the other profiles and Add someone who plays here.
- Go Online / Go Offline in the same menu. An offline profile goes online by signing in; going offline keeps trophies and progress on this Mac until you go online again.
- Switching is blocked while a game runs ("Close game first"), and while saves are syncing.
- Settings → Profiles sets the name, picture and tile colour, switches to another profile, or deletes one (its saves and trophies on this Mac are backed up to Documents → AnyPS5 → Backups first).
- Existing users are migrated silently: your account, saves, trophies and settings become your first profile, with nothing to do.
Friends-only name and picture
- Settings → AnyTogether → Friends-Only Name and Picture sets a name (your real name, say, up to 40 characters) and a picture that only your accepted friends see, always next to your
@handle. Everyone else keeps seeing your public name and picture.
- Friends see it in friends, party, Play Together and profiles, in the Mac launcher, AnyPS5 Desktop and the phone app. Set it or clear it there, or in the phone's profile editor.
DLC and game updates from your own dumps
- Put the dumps of a game's update and add-ons next to the game, in the layout shadPS4 uses:
Games/
PPSA01234/ the game
PPSA01234-UPDATE/ its update (PPSA01234-patch works too)
PPSA01234-DLC/
EXPANSION0000001/ one folder per add-on, named by its label
UP0000-PPSA01234_00-COSTUMEPACK00002/ or by its content ID
UP0000-PPSA01234_00-SOUNDTRACK000003/ an add-on can also sit next to the game, named by its content ID
- The game's folder name or its title ID goes before
-UPDATE, -patch and -DLC, in any case. These folders are no longer listed as games or half-copied dumps.
- The game's page shows DLC (n) with their names and Update vX applied once the game is unlocked with it. An update dumped after the unlock says unlock to apply: its
eboot.bin and modules are converted again, and your saves and trophies stay.
- The engine reads the update's files in place of the game's and mounts each add-on the game asks for.
- Only content on your disk is reported to the game: nothing you did not dump is unlocked, and nothing contacts Sony.
Game Presets, per profile
- Settings → Game Presets sets, once for every game, what the PS5 keeps under that name: difficulty, Performance Mode or Resolution Mode, invert the camera (vertical and horizontal, first-person and third-person), subtitles and the audio language. Each profile has its own.
- Games that read the console's presets start with them; a game that keeps its own settings uses those once you change them in it, and games that do not ask ignore them.
- Performance Mode is seen to work in games. Difficulty, invert camera, subtitles and audio language are experimental: their values follow the console's menus and have not been checked against a console.
Battery & Heat profiles (Mac)
- Settings → Battery & Heat says what a MacBook on battery (or in Low Power Mode), or a Mac running hot, does to the game. Plugged in and cool, nothing changes.
- The Battery Profile and the Heat Profile each set a frame rate cap (30, 40 or 45 FPS, or none), Lower Resolution (games with a resolution option start one step lower, next launch), Pause Frame Generation (for games started with frame generation on) and a Lighter Launcher (less Glass blur and animation). Both are on by default with a 40 FPS cap.
- It changes live, mid-game: the frame cap and the frame generation pause apply at once, through a new engine control file. A cable that slips changes nothing (the power source counts after 10 s) and the heat profile ends 90 s after the Mac cools down.
- When the Mac gets hot, a note shows over the game ("Your Mac is hot: AnyPS5 lowered the frame rate"). Undo from the PS quick menu (Undo Heat Profile or Undo Battery Profile) goes back to your settings until the Mac cools down or the power source changes.
- The quick menu shows a battery line: the charge and about how long it lasts.
- Engine:
ANYPS5_FPS_CAP sets a frame cap at start, and ANYPS5_POWER_CONTROL names a file of fps_cap= and frame_gen= lines the engine reads every 500 ms (docs/dev/ENVIRONMENT.md).
Also in this release
- Options/Start on Home opens the Options menu; △ stays the game's settings.
- An offline profile without an account still signs in from Settings → AnyTogether as before; friends' private pictures are read again once the list is old.
- Engine: add-on folder names are read as UTF-8, so a name outside the ANSI code page works on Windows. Add-on licences are reported through
sceAppContent and sceNpEntitlementAccess, and sceUserServiceGetGamePresets answers with the presets (ANYPS5_ADDCONT_DIRS, ANYPS5_UPDATE_DIR, ANYPS5_GAME_PRESETS in docs/user/USAGE.md).
- Guide: where to put update and DLC dumps, and Game Presets (docs/user/GUIDE.md, English and Turkish).
Phone app "AnyPS5 Remote" 1.19
- Friends-only names and pictures of your friends in friends, party and profiles, with the
handle beside.
- Set and clear your own friends-only name and picture in the profile editor.
Windows and Linux: AnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.10
- Profiles (offline or online first start, Who's playing?, Switch Profile from PS long-press or Options/Start and right-click on Home, Go Online/Offline, blocked while a game runs, silent migration), friends-only names and pictures, DLC and updates from your dumps and Game Presets per profile, as above.
- New engine: AnyPS5-toolkit-windows-ce334c86b.zip and AnyPS5-toolkit-linux-ce334c86b.tar.gz / .zip (built on Ubuntu 22.04, glibc 2.35). They read the update and add-on folders and answer with the Game Presets; the online, remote pad, AppContent and UserService tests pass on both. Settings → AnyPS5 Engine in AnyPS5 Desktop offers them.
Install
Mac (Apple silicon, macOS 14 or newer): already on 0.2.8 or later, use Settings → About → Update to 0.2.24 (or Restart Now on the update notice). Or:
curl -fsSL https://github.com/utkuhalis/AnyPS5-ARM/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh
It puts AnyPS5.app in Applications and installs Rosetta 2 if it is missing. With AnyPS5-macOS.zip instead: unzip and open the app. The first time, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
Games unlocked with an earlier version get the engine fixes when you choose Update and Play on them (your saves and trophies stay). A game with a dumped update is unlocked again to apply it.
Phone:
- Android: open AnyPS5-Remote.apk on the phone and allow installing from your browser when asked.
- iPhone (iOS 15 or newer): install AnyPS5-Remote.ipa with AltStore, SideStore or Sideloadly, which sign it with your own Apple ID.
- No app: scan the launcher's QR code (Play from a browser).
Windows 10/11: run AnyPS5-Desktop-Setup-0.1.10-x64.exe (installs for your user, no admin), or unzip AnyPS5-Desktop-windows-x64.zip. SmartScreen may warn: More info → Run anyway. AnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.3 or later offers this update by itself.
Linux: AnyPS5-Desktop-0.1.10-x86_64.AppImage (chmod +x, run), sudo apt install ./anyps5-desktop_0.1.10_amd64.deb, or the .tar.gz. The launcher needs Ubuntu 22.04 or newer.
On Windows and Linux, press Download the AnyPS5 engine on first start (or update it in Settings → AnyPS5 Engine for DLC, updates and Game Presets). For clips, install ffmpeg (Windows: winget install ffmpeg or put ffmpeg.exe beside the launcher; Linux: sudo apt install ffmpeg).
Engine files: AnyPS5-toolkit-macos-0.2.24-arm.zip is this release's engine for the Mac launcher's engine picker. AnyPS5-toolkit-windows-ce334c86b.zip and AnyPS5-toolkit-linux-ce334c86b.tar.gz / .zip are the Windows and Linux ones for AnyPS5 Desktop's. You don't need to download them yourself.
